NOT ALL GAME DESIGNS WILL SUCCEED IN BLOCKCHAIN GAMING

Just as not all successful console games translated their success into mobile gaming.

In the end, what succeeded were games that understood mobile characteristics.

In the words of Kang Daehyun, COO of Nexon Korea:

NEXON ON BLOCKCHAIN TRANSPARENCY

Nexon will utilize the transparency of blockchain technology to promote TRUSTLESS gaming and eliminate central control of developers on the game.

NEXON ON OPEN ECOSYSTEM

Nexon will promote a more AUTONOMOUS model of game development that values and rewards the contributions of everyone and fosters a sense of community within the gaming industry.

NEXON ON STORING OF VALUE

Based on their core IP, Nexon will introduce the world of MapleStory Universe, a space where NFTs are shared and games coexist. The IP will be shared among these games and this kind of system would give credibility in terms of NFT PERMANENCE.

TRUSTLESS. AUTONOMOUS. PERMANENCE.

Together, these characteristics in a game are important components of decentralization.

It's amazing how Nexon deeply looked, not only into blockchain gaming but more so into blockchain technology. 👀

✅ did tons of research

✅ made a bet with their core IP

✅ plan on releasing a blockchain game without in-game purchases and NFT pre-sales

says a lot about the team and its vision.

All of these make me excited not only for the @MaplestoryU launch but also for the future of blockchain gaming in general.
